Ron Sturgeon, author of Green Weenies and Due Diligence, a reference guide to 1,200 business terms - both humorous and serious. The book is illustrated by the incomparable Gahan Wilson. Mr. Sturgeon is a successful entrepreneur and the author of How to Salvage Millions From Your Small Business. As with all the authors, he will be available to autograph his book, copies of which he will offer for sale.
Steven Zipkoff is the President of Zipkoff Solutions, a unique management education company and author of the book, The Seven Stages of Successful Unemployment…From Hell to Hallelujah! After spending over twenty years working for large world-famous billion dollar corporations in marketing and strategic planning and being laid-off, downsized, right-sized and outright fired, Steve decided to work for himself because he liked the boss. Steve has been a regular guest on “Good Morning Texas“ on WFAA Channel 8 and has appeared on numerous radio and TV shows as well as The Wall Street Journal, The Dallas Morning News and The Dallas Business Journal.
Eric Holmes is a writer, engineer and a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army Reserves. Eric’s second book, Iraq: Providing Hope, is a collection of stories from fifty people who served in Iraq, which brings to the reader a new perspective, which isn’t shown on the nightly news. For his day job Eric works for a defense contractor helping to build the Future Combat System for the US Army. As a Reserves officer, Eric works with high school students who wish to go to West Point. Eric is a graduate of the US Military Academy and has a Masters of Science from Georgia Tech. Originally from Dallas, Eric and his family live in Allen, Texas where Eric is active in youth sports and President of the Allen Toastmasters Club.
Michelle Miller is a 5-year cancer survivor and the Founder and Executive Director of The Cancer Monument, Incorporated a charitable 501(c)(3). She currently pursues a Ph.D. in Public Affairs at the State University of Texas in Dallas, holds a Masters degree Humanities-Literature, and a B.A. in English Literature from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She is the author of On My Way To The Cancer Monument, published by Timberwolf Press in June 2005. Michelle is also the producer, writer, and host of Monumental People Coping and Living With Cancer, a regionally syndicated public health and cancer education radio show, as well as THRIVE, a weekly Dallas cable talk show about living and coping with cancer.
Allison Funkhouser lives in Plano, Texas where she attends middle school. During the summer of 2004, at age twelve, Allison finished writing her first book, Zealk and the Humans. Early in 2005, Zealk and the Humans was chosen for publication by Timberwolf Press of Allen, Texas. Allison has been writing stories for years but, with Zealk and the Humans, she heeded the specific advice of Plano author H. J. Ralles, who spoke to her sixth-grade language arts class. Allison concentrated on developing a detailed outline prior to writing the story. This helped her to create a well-connected, entertaining tale with a strong, positive message.
Alan Birkelbach is a native of Texas—and has never lived anywhere else. He spent his first 18 years in Georgetown and has since lived in Austin, League City, Dallas, and, currently, Plano. In his speaking engagements and personal travels he has been to practically every corner of the state. |
