New members who join the Friends organization are entitled to one free pass and may purchase up to three additional passes per household for only $2.00 each. The movie passes are on sale to Friends members at each of the five Plano Public Library System (PPLS) library locations. Individuals may also sign up for a Friends membership at any PPLS library.

Renewing or existing Friends members may also purchase up to four passes per household at the same cost of $2.00 per pass. Passes will be limited to 250 passes; the showing will be for Friends members only and is not open to the public. No passes will be sold at the door.

Friends of the Plano Public Library is a non-profit, educational group of citizens dedicated to supporting Plano libraries. Annual memberships range from $10.00 to $500.00. All members receive the monthly calendar and quarterly newsletter by mail plus advance notices about library events and programs. Different levels of memberships include different benefits. For example, "Special Edition" members, individuals joining at the $25 level, receive an exclusive invitation to the Friends Annual Book Sale preview party plus a $5.00 book sale discount coupon. Other benefits can include canvas book bags, exclusive invites to author events, and name recognition through special book name plates.
